What personal information Institute for Human Reasoning ("IHR", "we") collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. IHR is a trade name of Nina Somkina, a sole proprietor registered in Ukraine.
Account and purchases — name and email, to give you access, send emails and support you. Passwords are stored hashed. Kept while your Account exists.
Payments — Digital Products are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. We never receive your card details. We keep the date, amount, payment reference and the version of the Terms you accepted, for as long as tax law requires.
Sign-ins — IP address, device and time, to enforce the two-device limit and prevent shared access. 12 months.
Product use — which Reader pages you opened and when, when you downloaded template files, and for Courses which lessons you viewed. See Section 2. 12 months.
Notify-me list — your email, so we can send you one email when the product you asked about opens. We delete it after sending that email, or within 12 months.
Brain Workout — your first name and email from your Account, and, for each result you open, your answers and scores, so you can reopen and download the report from your profile. If you are not signed in, nothing from the workout is sent to us; a copy stays in your browser. Kept while your Account exists; you can delete any result in your profile, or ask us to delete them all.
Saved materials — which articles you saved, so they appear in your profile. Kept until you remove them or close your Account.
Newsletter — your email, until you unsubscribe. Correspondence — 3 years. Browsing — with your consent, Sections 3–4.
Sensitive information — we do not ask for it.
Because products are read on the Site, we record which pages you opened and when, and when you downloaded files. We use this to confirm the Account holder is the user, return you to where you stopped, and assess refund requests and payment disputes (we may share it with Paddle for that purpose). We do not use it for advertising.
Service providers working on our instructions: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, sign-in), Brevo (email), Google Analytics 4 (analytics), Meta and LinkedIn (advertising), Google Workspace (email, documents), Notion and Slack (internal work), Anthropic and OpenAI (text processing, Section 5).
Paddle acts independently as Merchant of Record for Digital Products and handles payment, tax and fraud-prevention data under its own Buyer Terms and Privacy Notice.
We disclose information where required by law. IHR operates from Ukraine and our providers are in the United States, the European Union and elsewhere, so your information is processed outside your country.
Analytics and advertising. Google Analytics 4 gives us aggregated site statistics (Google Signals and demographics are off). Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag receive site events — page views, checkout started, purchase completed — to build advertising audiences, and may link them to your accounts there. Under some state laws this may count as a "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising" even though no money changes hands. None of these load until you choose in the banner. We honour Global Privacy Control as a request to decline them; we do not rely on Do Not Track signals.
Strictly necessary (always on): sign-in session (Supabase) until you sign out; your cookie choice, 6 months; hosting cookies (Vercel).
Analytics, with consent: Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*, up to 24 months).
Advertising, with consent: Meta Pixel (_fbp, fr, up to 3 months), LinkedIn Insight Tag (li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, up to 12 months).
Change your choice any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page or in your browser. Declining analytics and advertising does not limit access to anything. We show the banner again before adding any new cookie-setting service.
We use Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI) for analysis, editing, programming and preparing materials. Client or user material is de-identified before it goes there. Logins, passwords, payment data and product-use data are not sent to these systems.
You may ask to access, correct, copy or delete your information, and withdraw consent to emails or cookies, subject to records we must keep by law. Depending on your state, you may also have rights to know, correct, delete, obtain a copy and opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising — use the contact below or "Cookie settings". We respond within 30 days and never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Write to ihr.institute@gmail.com from your Account email; we confirm within 5 business days. We delete your profile, email and usage data, and access to purchased products ends and cannot be restored. We keep only the transaction record (date, amount, payment reference) for as long as tax law requires. Downloaded files remain yours.
Transactional emails are always sent: purchase confirmation, receipt, access, replies, notices of changes to our Terms. Check your spam or promotions folder if one is missing.
Marketing emails only with your opt-in (never pre-ticked), with one-click unsubscribe and our postal address. We do not buy mailing lists.
Encrypted connections, hashed passwords and individual accounts for the three team members with access to personal data. No system is completely secure; if an incident requires notification by law, we notify.
Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and delete it if we learn we have.
New versions are published with a new date. Users with active access are notified by email of material changes at least 14 days before they apply. Previous versions are available on request.
